One, Nineteen is a highly topical, tragic-comic show written by Tim Stimpson (who writes for Radio 4’s The Archers, and BBC1’s Doctors), It is fast moving, filled with sharply-drawn characters, at times hilarious and satirical with five performers play 31 characters. It is directed by A C Wilson (Fringe First Award winner, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, recently made his West End directing debut with The Viewing Room by Daniel Joshua Rubin).

Net Curtains Theatre Company was founded in 2001 by Claire Farrington. From its base at The Bath House in London’s Soho, it has incited and developed a series of new plays. From workshops and rehearsed readings at the company base to fully-fledged productions at some of London’s leading Fringe and Off-West-End theatres, the company’s aim is to foreground the work of new theatre artists. Past work includes Skyscraping by Tim Stimpson at Southwark Playhouse, Tales of the Black Hand at The Tricycle Theatre Kilburn, Flood and One, Nineteen at Arcola Theatre, Dalston. The company is currently working with a group of new writers and directors, exploring the life and times of Dreamland, Margate.

Tim Stimpson (Writer) was tutored by such writers as Mark Ravenhill and David Edgar and graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA (Hons) in English and Drama and an MPhil in Playwriting Studies. He then joined the writing team for The Archers as their youngest writer ever and has since written more than one hundred episodes. Previous theatrical work includes The Eighth Day (Allardyce Nicoll Theatre), Breathing Space (Net Curtains Theatre Company, Soho Theatre) and Skyscraping (Net Curtains, Southwark Playhouse). In 2007 he became an Associate Writer with Net Curtains. Tim also writes for Doctors on BBC 1.

A C Wilson (Director) trained as an actor in Cardiff and Paris, and in as a director at Birkbeck College, London (from where he graduated with distinction). He has directed in theEngland, Scotland, Austria and Finland. He won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Fringe with How To Kill by Angus Reid which then toured to London and Poland before being made into a film. He recently directed The Viewing Room by Daniel Joshua Rubin in London’s West End, and co-directed The Unconquered by Torben Betts (which won Best New Play in Scotland 2007). In July 2006 he directed Flood at the Arcola Theatre for Net Curtains and became the company’s Associate Director. His production of Torben Betts’
The Biggleswades at Southwark Playhouse in 2005 was described in The Observer as ‘brilliant’. Later this year, he will direct The Herd of Standlan for Rowan Tree Theatre Co in Scotland. In 2007 he became Associate Artistic Director of Net Curtains Theatre Company.
