Blood Landscapes is a triple-projection video work by artist and filmmaker Richard O’Sullivan. The piece follows a journey from a shattered urban landscape – downtown Los Angeles – into the degraded wilderness of the American West.
Shifting from a figurative to an abstract image and accompanied by a symphony of mechanical sounds, the piece offers a visual representation of the industrial impact on the natural world. This ominous, brooding portrait asks whether a boundary still stands between the natural world and the city.
